Overview

Tugs for berthing, unberthing, shifting and escorting vessels in Port Dickson waters, with towing and anchor handling tugs for other work. Towage is delivered through the Don Maritime Group, whose harbour, towing and anchor tugs work from one base in Port Dickson. The service is for ship masters, agents and terminal operators planning a movement that needs tug assistance.

What we provide

  • Harbour tugs for berthing, unberthing and shifting vessels within the Port Dickson port limits.
  • Escort and standby tug cover during vessel movements.

  • Harbour tugs: berthing, unberthing and escort. The harbour tugs have 45 t bollard pull and fire fighting capability.
  • Towing tugs: coastal and ocean tows.
  • Anchor tugs: anchor handling and barge work.

Working with other services

  • Pilotage and mooring: NS Port Control plans the tugs together with the pilot, pilot boat, mooring boats and mooring gangs for each movement.
  • Lay up: pilots and tugs from the Don Maritime Group bring a vessel to her lay up point.
  • OSR, fire fighting and rescue: the group fleet's harbour tugs have fire fighting capability.
  • Stevedoring: the 1,200 t flat top barge used for deck cargo, heavy lifts and project cargo moves under tow.

Safety and standards

Don Maritime Sdn Bhd is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (quality management system) and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety management system) by NIOSH Certification. The scope of the certificates includes marine services such as pilotage, mooring and unmooring, marine logistics and waterfront workers.
