Overview

Mooring boats and mooring gangs make a vessel fast when it arrives and cast it off when it leaves. The mooring boats and crews come from the Don Maritime Group fleet. NS Maritime offers marine services for jetty and terminal operations: mooring and unmooring, line handling, mooring boat support and standby boats on station throughout jetty and SBM operations. The service is for ship masters, agents and terminal operators at the jetties and SBMs of Port Dickson.

What we provide

  • Mooring boats and mooring gangs to make a vessel fast on arrival and cast off on departure.
  • Line handling at the jetties and SBMs.
  • Mooring boat support and standby boats on station throughout jetty and SBM operations.
  • Berthing, mooring and daily operations at the jetty.
  • Mooring planned together with pilotage and towage.

How it works

  • NS Port Control plans the mooring boats and mooring gangs with the pilot and tugs for each arrival and departure.
  • On arrival, mooring boats and mooring gangs handle the lines and make the vessel fast at the jetty or SBM.
  • Standby boats stay on station while the vessel works at the jetty or SBM.
  • On departure, the mooring gangs and mooring boats cast the vessel off.

Working with other services

  • Pilotage and towage: delivered through the Don Maritime Group and planned together with mooring by NS Port Control.
  • NSC jetty: NS Maritime boats use the NSC jetty as a standby berth between jobs, close to the Port Dickson anchorages.
  • Lay up: passenger, cargo and mooring boats are on call for vessels in lay up.
  • NSC jetty: crew and passenger transfers at the jetty use its new embarkation ladder for boarding and landing.

Works at the jetties and SBMs

  • Works and inspections at the Port Dickson jetties and single buoy moorings are announced in port circulars, which the Marine Department lists under Wilayah Tengah.
  • Circulars issued in October 2026 cover an overall visual inspection of the HRC single buoy mooring, repair works at the HRC Berth 1 jetty and works for the Petron refinery jetty replacement project. The latest circulars are listed on the Port Info page.
