Overview

Marine pilots take vessels in, within and out of the Port Dickson port limits. Pilotage is delivered through the Don Maritime Group, whose own pilots bring vessels in and out of the terminals for berthing and unberthing. The service is for ship masters and agents of vessels calling at the terminals, jetties and SBMs, or moving between berths and anchorages.

What we provide

  • Marine pilots for vessels arriving at, moving within and leaving the Port Dickson port limits.
  • Harbour pilotage for berthing and unberthing at the terminals.
  • Pilot boats for pilot transfers.
  • Passenger and launch boats to move pilots, crew and surveyors.
  • Pilot boarding times coordinated with towage and mooring so each movement runs to plan.

How it works

  • NS Port Control plans the pilot, pilot boat, tugs and mooring crews around the vessel's arrival or departure.
  • The pilot is taken out to the vessel by pilot boat.
  • The pilot brings the vessel in to her berth at the terminal, or takes her out on departure, working with the tugs and mooring crews.

Working with other services

  • Towage and mooring: pilots, tugs and mooring crews are planned together for each movement.
  • Lay up: pilots and tugs from the Don Maritime Group bring a vessel to her lay up point.

Safety and standards

Don Maritime Sdn Bhd is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (quality management system) and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety management system) by NIOSH Certification. The scope of the certificates includes marine services such as pilotage, mooring and unmooring, marine logistics and waterfront workers.
