Port management

NS Port Control plans and coordinates marine services for vessels calling at Port Dickson, working with the Port Dickson Marine Office of the Marine Department.

VTMS: in operation, on a voluntary basis. VTMS, the vessel traffic management system, is one of the services under port management. NS Port Control runs it today for vessels that take part voluntarily. It is not an official Vessel Traffic Service: NS Maritime's proposal to the Marine Department of Malaysia for one, NS VTS, has not yet been approved.

Overview

NS Maritime is the port operator in Port Dickson waters, a joint venture of NS Corporation and Don Maritime Sdn Bhd. NS Port Control is its coordination desk for vessels arriving at and leaving the Port Dickson port limits. It assists the Port Dickson Marine Office, the port authority, and provides information to the terminals. The service is for ship masters, agents and terminal operators who need pilots, tugs and mooring crews planned around an arrival or a departure.

What we provide

  • Help the Port Dickson Marine Office communicate with vessels during arrival and departure.
  • Plan the deployment of pilots, pilot boats, tugboats, mooring boats, mooring gangs and land transport for each movement, so that marine service resources are used efficiently.
  • Advise the authorities on the pilot boarding schedule and the movement of marine assets within the Port Dickson port limits.
  • Support the authorities in the safe arrival and departure of vessels within the port limits.
  • Provide information to the terminals to help them plan arrivals and departures.

Working with other services

Pilotage and towage are delivered through the Don Maritime Group. NS Port Control plans the pilots, pilot boats, tugs, mooring boats and mooring gangs together around each arrival and departure.
